The Painted Girls (Cathy Marie Buchanan)

Yes, I know we're discussing this book in the summer, so I won't give you any spoilers.  I will only say that it is a lovely mix of well-researched history liberally sprinkled with inventive licence.  Of course, being set nearly in my favourite epoque (this is post-revolution France, close enough to be an automatic win), and my favourite genre (historical fiction), it was pretty easy for this to be a winner for me.  I hope the rest of you will enjoy it as I did!
